What Happens If The Site Gets Shut Down?

This question has come up about fifteen times now, both from my two kindly editors, and the outside readers who have found the site. Since I don’t have a Frequently Asked Question page, I guess I’ll just answer the one question most frequently asked here. It depends what you mean by “shut down”, and it depends why it happens… Hope this helps… oh wait, you wanted more than that? Fine, read on.

The reasons why this or any other site may be shut down is countless, but for the sake of convenience, let’s break it into three pretty obvious categories, with answers for each.

Pausing to Breathe a Minute While Heatherwood Regroups

As you can imagine, this site has caused some stir in the upper echelons of Heatherwood’s higher management. That isn’t a call to arms as much as a statement of fact. My ability to market the site in order to get the word out has been met with fair success, for what little I’ve done, and the message, it seems, has not fallen on deaf (nor dumb) ears. While I could go full-tilt with my site promotions, I’ve chosen instead to grant a bit of hesitation while they regroup.

I’d like to say it’s rare to find a mega-corporate conglomerate that has discovered a new and innovative way to make a few extra bucks legally, and it’s because those types almost always go about it the wrong way. We rarely dip in to consumer protection stories, but the management at Heatherwood Apartments has preyed on its poor, working class tenants like no professional agency I’ve ever seen, and it’s a can of worms, so we’re ready to dip into it. Not because we can, but because we must. These guys are corporate crooks, and they’ve taken advantage of thousands already, and they need to know the world is watching.
According to every tenant I’ve interviewed, they work pre-lease negotiations fraudulently, and write the leases themselves in ways that strain legal believability.
