If You Want a Better Neighbor, Be One

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

I spent the first 20 years of my life living in a pretty sheltered neighborhood. You might even call it exclusive in that the lots were big, there was only one road that ran through it, and all of my neighbors were so old that by now I’m sure they’re all dead, so I didn’t really understand what it meant to have, want or be a good neighbor until I first struck out on my own. Almost everyone complains about their neighbors, but there’s a pretty easy way to get yourself better neighbors, and it doesn’t always have to involve moving, just BE a better neighbor yourself.

Be Young & Dangerous If You Must, But Don’t Be Crazy

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

I know from talking with a number of young, exciting persons recently that there is a sort of grand recklessness that has come to be associated with this philosophy. Maybe you drive fast, lie to your family and go in to work hung over once in a while, but there are three extremely important categories where you really, really can’t be careless, and they are; selective service registration, filing tax returns, and answering the phone when collection agents call.

Pausing to Breathe a Minute While Heatherwood Regroups

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

As you can imagine, this site has caused some stir in the upper echelons of Heatherwood’s higher management. That isn’t a call to arms as much as a statement of fact. Nice Guys Finish Last; Cutting Corners by the Numbers

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

You might think suspect your landlord lied to you to get you into your apartment, or skimmed a couple bucks off the end of your lease. Even at worst it’s only a couple days, or a few bucks, so what does it actually mean? Well, if we’re talking about hundreds, or thousands of apartments, the economy of scale makes even pennies add up, and we ain’t talking about pennies; these are big, big dollars.

Looking To Find Criminals In Your Neighborhood, Look No Further

Monday, September 29th, 2008

My security settings are such that I haven’t been able to fully vet it myself, but I’ve found a web site that looks awfully good for finding each and every felon living in your neighborhood, and it’s called Felon Spy. From what I heard on the brilliant, award winning (if a bit off color) radio show “The Sh*t That Irks Me”, this is the real deal.

Check it out and find your own neighborhood criminals and know best how to save your kids from whatever trouble they may face.

www.FelonSpy.com isn’t just great, it’s pretty good, and sadly, the best we have so far.
